Press

I collaborate with local and national media outlets to share impactful stories and elevate SPCA Wake’s mission. My work has been featured by The Washington Post, People Magazine, Good Morning America, Southern Living, ABC News, Fox News, CBS This Morning, HuffPost, The Dodo, and more.

I also write and distribute press releases to support operational needs, share educational content, and promote mission-driven storytelling. These efforts consistently generate coverage from Raleigh-area outlets including WRAL, The News & Observer, CBS17, and ABC11. Whether through written statements or on-camera interviews, I focus on clearly and compellingly communicating each story’s heart and impact.

TRADITIONAL MEDIA

Media outlets regularly pick up popular stories shared on our social media. My mission-focused storytelling generates about 2-4 earned (read: free) media features every month to increase SPCA Wake brand awareness, provide education, and spread word about the nonprofit’s functions and mission. Below are just two of many examples of my social media storytelling that generated widespread local/national media coverage.

Ronald the Unlucky Dog

This social media post about Ronald—a dog whose 14 pending adoptions had all fallen through—sparked a whirlwind of local and national media attention. It led to print features in more than 20 outlets, including The Washington Post, Fox News, and People Magazine, as well as live national television coverage on ABC’s World News Now and CBS’s morning roundtable show In the Morning.

Bruno the One-Eared Wonder

A viral story about Bruno—a one-eared dog who tore the same ear off his favorite stuffed toy—sparked a similar wave of widespread media attention. The story fueled national conversation about pit bull adoption and significantly boosted awareness of SPCA Wake’s rescue and adoption services, with coverage in more than 20 local and national media outlets.
